Ever mix up where you'd find polar bears and penguins?

Arctic: Frozen sea ice, polar bears.

Antarctic: Frozen land, penguins.

Perhaps this will help too:

Arktos (ἄρκτος) means bear in Greek. It's part of the name of the Great Bear and Little Bear constellations, which are found in the north.

The prefix "ant-", just like "anti-", on Antarctic means opposite the north.
